Stellar Phoenix Macintosh is an industrial strength data recovery program from Stellar Information Systems. The software is $129 for a single license downloaded copy. This is a very nice feature, it is quick and easy to get when you really need it. Unlike some of the other disk rescue and recovery programs, you can run it directly from a hard drive, not a CD/DVD. In geek terms, it is non-destructive and read-only file and partition recovery utility. The advantage here is that you can try several recovery techniques. Failed recovery attempts do not make the problem worse. This also means that the drive is not “fixed”, files are recovered.
